North East Based Renewable Energy Specialists
  • The Government has introduced two schemes to help reduce or reliance on fossil fuels

    Fit's - Feed in Tariffs

Feed-In Tariffs (also known as FITs) are the electricity part of what is known as the 'Clean Energy Cashback scheme', a scheme that pays people for creating their own "green electricity". The Energy can be generated from various sources the most common being solar pv and wind.

    RHI - Renewable Heat Incentive

The Renewable Heat Incentive is similar to the electrical feed in tariff scheme but is for heat generation.
While the Renewable Heat Incentive is similar to the Feed-In Tariff there are some important differences, and in particular:
    • It will be paid for by the Treasury not by energy users.
    • There is no ‘National Grid for Heat’ and so importing and exporting heat is not relevant.
